Nationals Senator for Victoria Bridget McKenzie says boarding students are “particularly doing it tough” amid ongoing COVID-19 restrictions.
“I held a round table today with parents from across the country, principles and boarding schools and our cross-border commissioners to really talk about what some of the issues were,” Ms McKenzie told Sky News host Peta Credlin.
Ms McKenzie said she has received stories from parents of tragic instances where they are unable to see their kids as a result of exemptions being denied.
“It’s just crazy, it’s not compassionate and it’s not working.”
