Can regular exercise cause hair loss? Many of our patients who are active with gym activities have asked us this question. It prompted us to do a video on the relation between hair loss and working out.
In this video, our skin and hair expert Dr Venkataram Mysore speaks about how exercises are essential in one’s life. He walks us through the conditions in which hair loss has been visible among those leading an active workout life.
It is seen that metabolic diseases and heart-related problems are common among Indians. The recent celebrity deaths, while working out at the gym, has made people sceptical about the adverse effects of gym life. Dr Venkataram also cite examples of actual patients who approached us for a hair loss condition while being active in workouts.
In this video, our hair expert emphasises the importance of fitness in our daily life. Working out is vital for leading a healthy life. However, vigorous exercise and extraordinary muscle building can cause harmful effects. Overdoing exercises is not highly suggested. Ensure that you take proper medical advice before working out at a gym or in your private space.
While working out, the doctor advises a few tips that can help you maintain a safe and healthy life. Among these, Dr Venkataram stresses avoiding anabolic steroids as an essential piece of advice to avoid hair loss.
