Load shedding is in full swing. Eskom says the system remains constrained, as Unit 1 of Kusile and Matimba Unit 5 have tripped. But the power utility has promised to keep the lights on throughout the election period to ensure voting goes smoothly. Earlier Eskom's Chief Operations officer Jan Oberholzer told the media that staff will be on standby from the end of this week until after the elections to ensure that they deal with challenges whenever they arise.
