Barring verbal conflicts between the police and the members of two Ganapati mandals, the Ganapati immersion ceremony was carried out peacefully in Pune on Sunday. Cops seized dhol-tashas from a couple of other Ganapati mandals. Majority of the mandals had prepared tanks in front of their pandals for immersion. However, Tulshibaug Ganapati Mandal and Bhau Rangari Mandal took out dhol-tashas and started playing the instruments. Police rushed to the pandals of these two mandals. This led to verbal encounters between police and mandal workers. After a few minutes the mandal members admitted their mistake and stopped playing the dhol-tashas. However the issue was resolved and everything went off peacefully.
