A tasty and healthy chutney recipe with the herb Brahmi - for the brain
Brahmi ( Bacopa monnieri) chuntey
In earlier times, the herb Brahmi was a part of the Indian kitchen. Today too, we can make a very tasty chutney from Brahmi
Ingredients:
Fresh Brahmi Leaves – one bowl
Fresh Coconut - one bowl
Red Chilly – 1 or 2
Ginger – 1 inch piece
Urad dal – 21/2 teaspoons
Coriander seeds – 1 teaspoon
Cumin seeds – 1 teaspoon
Lemon – half lemon
Curry leaves – 5-6
Saindhav salt – according to taste
Stone sugar powder – half teaspoon
Take one teaspoon ghee in an iron pan, add 2 tsp urad dal, coriander seeds, cumin seeds and chilly, roast on low flame for 2-3 minutes.
Grind the coconut, brahmi leaves, ginger, the roasted spices, salt, sugar in the mixer.
Now take a little ghee in a skillet, when the ghee is hot add half teaspoon cumin seeds, half teaspoon urad dal and 4-5 curry leaves. Garnish the chutney with this mixture.
