Do you have the credit to buy a home? With a VA loan, the credit requirements are far more flexible. However, you still need to have decent credit to qualify for a much better rate. Additionally, you need to have cash to close. It's important to be prepared and have at least 2% of the mortgage in your bank account by closing. Lastly, your VA loan needs to be for your primary residence only! The VA will not fund an investment property or a rental.
