I have the statistics of harassment of women for the last five months in front of me and I am bowing my head in shame. This is not even data that can be shared with readers, just know that this report is adding to our grief. Every day such videos are appearing on social and electronic media which makes one bow one's head in shame. The fact is that just talking about such incidents will not solve the problem. For this, while we have to improve our social attitudes, the concerned agencies also have to adopt a zero tolerance policy in which the main role is played by the police. If the police have taken steps like setting up a women safety app or a special cell in this context, we should all support it. Police officials will also have to focus on departmental reform. Everyday incidents of police harassment against women also need to be curbed. Inevitably, such incidents put the good work of the police behind them. If there is a positive change in the way police officers talk, there will be no need to spread the word that there are positive changes in the police department. People will understand automatically. It's just that the effects of action are far greater than speeches and discourses.
