1. Schools May Close In Odisha
Ahead of the possible third wave of pandemic, the Odisha government has indirectly blamed the families for the surge in cases among the children and adolescent under 18 year age groups. The chief of Directorate of Medical Education and Training (DMET), CBK Mohanty on Tuesday advised parents to compulsorily inform the administration in case of development of any SARI/ILI symptoms in their wards.
2. Another Low Pressure To Form
After a prolonged dry spell, several parts of Odisha are now experiencing moderate to heavy rainfall for the past 24 hours under the influence of a well-marked turned low pressure system. The low pressure now lies over north coastal Andhra Pradesh and adjoining south Odisha with the associated cyclonic circulation extending upto 7.6 km above mean sea level tilting south-westwards with height.
3. Odisha Assembly Passes Municipal Laws (Amendment) Bill
The State Assembly on Tuesday passed the Odisha Municipal Laws (Amendment) Bill 2021, limiting the total reservation of seats to 50 per cent in favour of Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST) and Backward Class of Citizens (BCC).
The passage of the Bill has paved the way for the urban local body (ULB) polls likely to be held in early 2022.
