Whoever goes on vacation these days doesn't do it just for himself anymore. For many people it's all about sharing as many and as great pictures of their trip as possible on Instagram and Co. - if possible even in real time. The "instagramability" of a holiday destination is sometimes mentioned. Meaning: The more a city, a beach or any other sight is suitable as photo wallpaper for the perfect selfie, the better. At the top of the list London, followed by Paris and New York. Dubai, Istanbul, Jakarta, Los Angeles, Barcelona, Moscow and Tokyo follow.
The study also found out what kind of photos are taken where. According to the study, most selfies are taken in Berlin, followed by Shanghai and Seoul. Landscape photographs are most likely to be taken in Santiago de Chile, Buenos Aires and Kiev. Erotic photos are especially popular in Rio de Janeiro, Hong Kong and Caracas, local specialties are shot in Tokyo, Taipei and Doha. Photos of couples, however, are mainly taken in Dubai, Mumbai and Paris.
