The Throne Room is a distinctive recurrent environment in the Castlevania franchise. The area is generally very small, conformed of only one room, and it normally lies on the highest section of the Castle Keep.

As its name implies, the throne where the Lord of the Castle commands his armies can usually be found here, although sometimes it is a vampire's coffin what's found there instead.

The final confrontation against the game's main antagonist commonly takes place in this chamber. However, in more recent titles it is the secondary antagonist or a friend/rival-turned-evil the one who is confronted in this chamber, and generally defeating this enemy in this location without first having satisfied a certain criteria will traduce in obtaining the bad ending of the game. In these cases, the final boss fight usually takes place in a hidden ceremonial chamber located in the vicinity of the castle's center.
