Lindsey Graham Vows To Go To War For Fast Food Restaurant

Apparently Lindsey Graham is much more of a war hawk than we had all thought. In a Twitter thread this week, the Republican Senator pledged to go to war for Chick-fil-A, after Notre Dame students and faculty wanted the fast food giant removed from their campus because of their anti-LGBTQ beliefs. It is amazing that Republicans are more willing to fight for a fast food restaurant than they are for their actual country or its citizens. Ring of Fire's Farron Cousins explains what's happening.

Students at Notre Dame, sent a letter to the college this week, asking that they remove Chick-fil-A, Chick-fil-A, excuse me, from the college campus, because they didn't agree with the executives of Chick-fil-A and their anti LGBTQ stances. They didn't want that on their campus. So they sent a letter and saying, hey, could we do this thing? Well, apparently this off Lindsey Graham. You don't come after Chick-fil-A, not on Lindsey Graham's watch. Oh, hell no. And Lindsey Graham launched into a Twitter tirade, a multi tweet thread where he actually threatened to go to war for Chick-fil-A. I mean, hell we know Lindsey Graham is a warmonger, but my God, the slightest provocation over the stupidest thing and the guy's like, it. I'm going to war.

Here's just a sampling of his idiotic Twitter thread, disappointing to hear some ND students and faculty want to ban Chick-fil-A from doing business on campus because they disagree with the values held by the Chick-fil-A founders. I want everyone in South Carolina and across America to know that I have Chick-fil-A's back. I hope we don't have to, but I will go to war for the principles Chick-fil-A stands for. Great food. Great service. Great values. God blessed Chick-fil-A. It's a, um, it's, it's, it's a fast food chicken restaurant, Lindsey. Maybe, maybe tone it down a bit. I mean, that, that's, that's a little over the top. God bless Chick-fil-A? I don't understand the obsession with Chick-fil-A. I, I live in the south. We have Chick-fil-A's all over the place.

Um, it's mediocre fast food, pretty much like every other fast food restaurant. Sure. The service is better. But uh, go to war for them? Definitely not. This is, this is crazy talk, Lindsey. Chick-fil-A has oil in the restaurant. Sure. They use it to fry the chicken. But it's not the kind of oil that the United States typically goes to war for. And hey, if a bunch of college students don't want to support a business that has anti LGBTQ values, that is their prerogative. They are allowed to send a letter to the campus administration saying we do not want this here. The campus administration then can make the choice. Okay. Well, if the students don't want it, we don't have to have it.

Chick-fil-A doesn't have a right to be on our campus. So, you know, there's that. But my God Republicans really are willing to just go to bat for Chick-fil-A at the drop of a hat. And why? Because of the hatred? Because Chick-fil-A is a right wing evangelical corporation, at least, you know, according to its founders? And so they just hate the LGBTQ community. And that is enough for Republicans, or to be willing to go out there like Graham says and go to war for them. This is disgusting. This is bigotry. This is hatred. But most importantly, Lindsey Graham, it's frickin' chicken. So calm down a bit.
