With diners prioritizing staple meals for takeaways, these snack sellers have seen their sales drop by 30 – 80%.
But having survived crises and personal tragedies in their decades-long history, pride in their craft and innovation keep these snack makers hanging on.
As restrictions are lifted and diners return from 21st June, hawkers are breathing a sigh of relief. But with no confirmed successors in sight for Gina and the Changs, the future of their stalls remain uncertain.
